What does 2022 have in store?

Updated: Jul 2, 2022

As 2021 draws to a close, I'm having to re-assess what will be happening in the new year - I'd originally got a trip to the Cairngorms planned for the end of January but that has been postponed, yet again, due to the situation in Scotland.

Aside from a two week stay at the end of the year in Grasmere, there are no other trips in the diary, as yet, so I will have to get my thinking cap on - places on the list will likely include the Yorkshire Dales, Wales, the Lake District and the Peak District (another favourite of mine and lots to discover!).

While it may seem a daunting task to organise all of these trips, I actually find the planning and research quite exciting - it whets the appetite and gives me something to look forward to which, in these dismal days, is no bad thing.

On a positive note, February sees the start of the Art Shows, with Longwick School Art Show (26th and 27th February) being the first of several that I have lined up - others already booked in are Wendover MS Art Show (5th and 6th March) and Art on the Hill, Brill (26th and 27th March), while I am also hoping to attend Beaconsfield (May), Watlington (October) and Waterperry (November). It could be a very busy year!

Other plans include entering various competitions along with increasing the amount of time I spend out in the field actually taking photographs - this year, there was a reduction in the number of times I picked up the camera bag and went out - there was no particular reason for this but it did (obviously) result in less images that were of 'portfolio' quality.

Anyway, once again, can I thank everyone for their support in 2021 and wish you all a very Happy New Year.
