“Our Story”

What started off as a search for a way to be creative has turned in to a love for the outdoors and an excuse to explore the fantastic countryside around the UK.

Photography was chosen because of an inability, on my part, to be able to paint or draw and a misconception that all I had to do was press a button and the picture would appear – how wrong I was - it soon became apparent that there was a lot more to photography than I thought.

A couple of years after I started, Kathy also fell victim to the photography bug and we’ve been on a steep learning curve ever since.

Our initial pictures left a lot to be desired but improvements were made as we learned, along with benefitting from advice from fellow photographers, and we’ve not looked back since.

We’ve visited some amazing places, seen incredible sunrises/sunsets and met a lot of terrific people along the way, who share the same enthusiasm for landscape and wildlife and who have become friends for life.

The images on display are a record of our trips around the country – the sights we’ve seen and the wildlife we’ve encountered along the way have made for some very enjoyable moments – two particular moments spring immediately to mind, the first was a sunrise trip to Mam Tor in the Peak District when the conditions were unbelievable, while the second was an encounter with a couple of Roe Deer at Arne Nature Reserve, where we got to spend an hour in their company – no more than 5 or 6 metres away!

Most weekends are spent wandering around the countryside looking for something that might catch our eye, although, it isn't always about the photography, as we are quite content with just observing nature work it's magic!

We are delighted to be able to present some of the images we have captured along the way.
