Little Owls and other birds

Writer: ianca4ianca4

Another terrific day spent at Neil Neville's hide with plenty of visits from the male Little Owl plus a multitude of visits from a number of other birds - Eurasian Jay, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Great Tit, Raven and both male and female Great Spotted Woodpecker - the female woodpecker being a particular highlight as she targetted all the other birds that got near the perchs.

This is our second year of visiting the hide and another one that we can definitely recommend to everyone - Neil's knowledge, commitment and passion for these wonderful birds makes for a brilliant day and we are already planning next year's trip (I'm trying to get another date for this year but all of the sessions are booked so I'm having to wait for a cancellation).

The day didn't go entirely to plan as I was trying out a new camera in readiness for our upcoming trip to photograph the Ospreys - more of that in the next post - and a lot of the pictures left much to be desired with many of them blurry.

However, with Neil's assistance, we may well have found the answer - it was the operator!! Still, lesson learned, and I hope that I do better next time.
